The Sunday before departure...

Ok, so my birthday went well yesterday! Enjoyed Tiger playing golf, Niners won, Giants are only 1 game out of the wildcard...good vibes for the upcoming trip! Originally, we wanted to take an RV, and bring friends, but that didn't work out this year. The economy is really hurting everyone, and we are not immune. ...

Departure Day

Well, it's 6am and we thought we would be in the air by now. Stef woke up early to check in online, and noticed that our flight doesn't leave until 6:25PM!!! Not AM!!! Ugh... Dave's voice is still sketchy, so we will see how it goes. 3 straight nights of wailing away is going to be tough for him. We are going to ...

Landed early

Well, we landed early...but my body is all messed up from the long day. Stef had to sit 2 rows up from me, so i slept most of the flight. They had some cool media players for rent on the plane preloaded with night at the smithsonian, and wolverine. Good stuff. Overall, alaska air exceeded my expectations. Except th ...

Okay, campers, rise and shine, and don't forget your booties 'cause it's cooooold out there today.

Ok, so its not that cold, but I haven't worn pants for anything other than a job interview for months. (we mostly wear shorts in the 100+ heat in Florida) So, um yeah 56 degrees is like -10 to me. Oh well, guess I'll be wearing jeans and a sweatshirt? Jeez, where did my thick PNW blood go??? Ok, so here's the pla ...

We have arrived!!!

Ok, all I can say is this took at lot of work, and prep to get here, and I would have never survived without Stef; the master organizer! It is so beautiful here, plenty of stars in the sky, and a full moon tonight!!! We are beat down right now, and need sleep, but we can't wait to get out and explore this beautifu ...

Good morning!!!

Not a bad night's sleep. We left the pump for the air mattress in Tacoma! I'm sure we will find someone with one... It did get cold, although not cold for locals; cold for Floridians. 50 degrees is downright chilly. We ran the heat from the car into the tent...it helped, but I'm afraid to leave it on too long... ...

Night One is about to begin...

G Love is on now...can hear the folks going crazy... The anticipation is palpable...everyone is pretty stoked. Dave going on at Sunset...and what a glorious sunset it will be... So many stories...I'll have to type them up tomorrow. Lots of Coug alumni, and I'm seeing a TON OF DUCK FANS...I guess with it being so ...

Night One...continued

Well, needless to say, the gorge is all its cracked up to be. The vistas are downright gorgeous, and the people here are fantastic. There's a lot of love in the air... Highlights for me tonight: Seven, Danny Barnes played five songs with the band; two of which were his. Additionally, Jimi Thing was pretty tight, Da ...

Night Two

Ok, in my humble opinion, Night 2 > Night 1. Bartender was the hands down consenus of the night. If you get a chance to download the show at Dreaming Tree (dreamingtree.org) I would highly recommend listening in on this one. Oh, and 41 was absolutely sick. (Are the kids still saying that? At least I didn't say ...

Night 3 is in the books, and we are headed home...

Ok, Night 3 was the best music of the weekend. He finished off with Grey Street and Timebomb. The crowd loved it. We packed up our tent and headed west to see Kim and Bryan, and then made our way down to Tacoma. Great times with the family. Great times with friends. Thank you Kim and Bryan, and Shannon and JB!!! W ...
